Elvis D. Gonzalez provides both litigation and counseling services to clients concerning various aspects of employment law.
Employment Discrimination Mr. Gonzalez has significant experience defending employment discrimination claims on the basis of sex, age, and race in both federal and state court, along with administrative agencies. In these cases, Mr. Gonzalez works to evaluate risk and assess settlement early. However, in cases warranting an aggressive defense, Mr. Gonzalez vigorously defends his clients' interests.
Wage and Hour
In the area of wage and hour litigation, Mr. Gonzalez has experience both defending and prosecuting claims involving pay practices. He has done so under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, and the Illinois Minimum Wage Act. Mr. Gonzalez has successfully adjudicated claims in both federal and state courts, as well as before the Illinois Department of Labor.
Employment Counseling Mr. Gonzalez also regularly counsels clients concerning compliance with state and federal statutes, and assists employers in implementing workplace policies and procedures, formulating employee handbooks, administering discipline, and resolving sensitive termination issues.
Trade Secrets, Confidential Information, and Restrictive Covenants Mr. Gonzalez helps businesses protect their trade secrets and other business assets by drafting effective non-compete, non-solicitation, and anti-raiding covenants, along with formulating policies to safeguard confidential information. Mr. Gonzalez also prosecutes and defends claims concerning the enforcement of restrictive covenants, and the misuse of trade secrets.
