(CHICAGO, IL - August 19, 2009) ---- Elvis D. Gonzalez has been chosen as Aflac's Hispanic Businessperson of the Year. Aflac is a leading provider of supplemental, dental, vision, disability, and other insurance. The award was presented during a halftime ceremony at the August 19, 2009 Chicago Fire game against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Mr. Gonzalez started his law firm two years ago, and has built a thriving practice focused on commercial litigation and employment law. His clients are engaged in a wide range of industries located in Illinois and throughout the country. Although growth in its client base and revenues has been robust, Mr. Gonzalez's firm has intentionally remained small. "By aggressively keeping costs down, we're able to provide the efficiencies that clients are seeking in the current environment. Relying on contract attorneys when greater capacity is needed enables us to handle larger matters while always controlling the client's expenditures."
Mr. Gonzalez has also been active in the community, previously serving on the Associate Board for the Infant Welfare Society of Greater Chicago, a non-profit comprehensive healthcare clinic in Logan Square, and as Director at Large for the Latino Breakfast Club, a trade association based in Chicago, emphasizing religious values and entrepreneurship.
